As an Indian student, the government of the UK allows you to study in a country, as long as you have a valid student visa.
There are 4 types of visas that are issued depending on your age and the type, of course, you are taking up.
Tier 4 (General) Student Visa
This visa is issued to students above the age of 16, who have a confirmed seat at an educational institution in the UK.
Tier 4 (General) Student Visa
This is granted to those students who have confirmed admissions in an educational institution in the UK without a valid Tier 4 sponsor.
Tier 4 (Child) Student Visa
This visa is issued to students who are between the ages of 4-17, and have secured admission to an educational institution in the UK and have a valid Tier4 sponsor.
Short-Term Study Visa
These visas are issued to students who are pursuing a short-term training or English language course.
In all visa categories, we recommend applying at least 3 months in advance from your travel dates and entering the UK at least 30 days before the start of your course, if its duration is longer than 6 months.
In order to be eligible for a Tier 4 student visa, you must fulfill certain obligations:
- You must have a confirmed seat at an educational institution with a licensed Tier 4 sponsor.
- Furnish proof of funds for your education and living expenses.
- Be proficient in speaking, writing, reading, and understanding English.
Tier 4 student visa documents required
In order to apply for a Tier 4 visa, you will require the following:
- A valid passport
- proof of funds for your education and other expenses
- Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) reference number and the documents used to obtain the same
- Passport-sized photographs
- Assessment documentation
Do keep in mind that in case any of your documents are not in English, they will require to be translated. The translated documents must include the date, name of the translator, and a certification that the information furnished is true.
The cost of a student visa is £348 and you will need to apply for the visa on the British Government’s official Gov.UK website.
