Cost Of Studying and Living In New Zealand

Just like any other country, studying in New Zealand can be expensive. However, with the right planning and budgeting, you can manage your expenses well. Your major expenses will be tuition, accommodation, food, and medical insurance.

Depending on where you study, and the course you opt for, your fees will range from between NZ$ 22,000 and NZ$35,000 per annum. MBA programmes though are often the most expensive costing approximately NZ$ 40,000.

Living on campus in New Zealand is an affordable option for international students, and can cost about NZ$270 per week. Bear in mind though that you will need to apply for this well in advance and also have the option to choose from self-catered or fully catered residential services.

Students also have the option to live off campus and share an apartment or live in a homestay with a local family. This can cost around NZ$120, but this also varies depending on your location.

Additional expenses involved include the cost of a student visa which is approximately NZ$270, and daily expenses which can touch NZ$15,000 per year and medical insurance which is about NZ$200-700 a year.
